Subject: What movies capture the '80s the best?
Written By: yelimsexa on 09/29/09 at 10:52 am
A spin-off from a similar topic on the '90s board, which movies capture the early '80s (1980-83), mid '80s (1984-86), and late '80s (1987-89) the best?
For early '80s, I'd say Fame (1980), Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), and Valley Girl (1982). Post-disco and new wave styles emerging.
For mid-'80s, I'd say The Breakfast Club (1984), Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (1985), and any other Brat Pack film released in that time.
Late '80s I'm not quite sure on.

Nightmares (1983) - the "Bishop of Battle" story starring Emilio Estevez
Ninja III - The Domination (1984) - the main character is an aerobics instructor who wears a headband, spandex tights, and legwarmers!
Hardbodies (1984) - a perfect time capsule of 1983-'84, with an appearance by all-girl hairband Vixen!
