Subject: Breakfast Cereals Of The 80's

Written By: MrBreakfast on 08/12/09 at 6:10 pm

I'd like to know everybody's favorite cereal from the 80's.

I vote for Ice Cream Cones Cereal (Genereal Mills).

If you need to look over a bunch of cereals to decide, here's a Cereal Timeline with pics:

BTW... that's my website and I'd love to hear what you think of it.

The Mr. T cereal was basically a Cap'N Crunch clone without the Cap'N lol

I loved C-3POs cereal.  I was very sad when they discontinued it

I do.

When Phantom Menace came to theatres, I had high hopes they would bring the cereal back.  They never did :(

Interestingly, there were cereals produced for both Episode II and Episode III... none as good as the first Star Wars cereal though...

Maybe it's because I was in my 20's in the 80's but I only recognize 4 of those cereal boxes with this being one of my all time favs.

My favorite cereal in the 80's was "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".

From that picture, I only got to try the Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Rocky Road, and OJ's cereal.

I typically had the old standbys, like Golden Grahams, Froot Loops, and Frosted Flakes for breakfast.  Every once in a while I was allowed to have Count Chocula or Cocoa Puffs.  ;D  :)

I hear that! Though my Mum let me eat most things, I think she drew the line at crazy flavoured breakfast cereals. I wasn't allowed to have anything too whacky.

Same here.  We got Frosted Flakes for a treat now and again, but that's about it.

Then by the time I got old enough to buy my own cereal, I'd already lost interest in the psychedelic varieties!

Of course, when we'd go and stay with my Grandma, we could get ANYTHING we wanted, but that's a grandmother thing.

and OJ's cereal.

OMIGOSH, I've forgotten that the 80s had the coolest cereals!!!

Unfortunately, my Mom tried cutting out sugar in my diet at all costs. I did have that Cabbage Patch Kids cereal once and that was a special treat. So did I ever love going over to other people's houses. I remember have the Pac Man cereal and loving it because of all those marshmallows. And I loved going to my parents' best friends' place because they had those monster cereals, and I remember Booberry being my favorite because the milk would turn blue.

A couple of other cereals that I remember from the 80s that are not shown in the picture are Honey-Comp and Sugar-Crisp.
