Subject: Out of Africa (1985)

This movie was very impressive especially the portrait painted by the cinematography. Streep and Redford give top notch performances to be sure but, the best member of the cast has to be the African landscape, and its people. Streep’s character suffers through a lot of very bad luck but she knows she can rely on Redford to pick her up; plus she doesn’t do a shabby job of holding her own either. In all I was very surprised by this film because the story didn’t require the charters to engage in lengthy dialoged to tell it.

Enjoyed the film (back in the day) but found it too slow at the time...... Always remember the line..."I had a farm...in Africa"

I always wanted to see this movie becuase it was a Sydney Pollack film (and he always makes good movies), but it did look a little to slow for my tastes. I still may one day see it
