Subject: "Pretty Woman" Van Halen video banned?
Written By: woops on 09/03/08 at 1:06 am
On a marathon, Mark Goodman stated that the video for "Pretty Woman" from Van Halen was banned on MTV?
What was the reason?
Though personally, it's not their best video.

Probably because the 80s was so conservative, compared to the 70s and 90s when it came to racy TV.

Ha ;D
Now look at what they did to TV
I disagree will certain words(even though I use them like butter all the time)
TV is supposed to have some morals....Thats whats missing in Todays era
MORALS
I'm not saying go back to the real "Plastic" times like Beaver Cleaver , but some things should be held in reserve!
But not to the extreme side either!
Like the one in the pic below

This was the first video Van Halen made. It was very costume intensive, with David Lee Roth dressed as Napoleon, Eddie Van Halen as a cowboy, Alex Van Halen as Tarzan, and Michael Anthony a Samurai Warrior. It also featured midgets fondling the legs of a drag queen, which got it banned by MTV for a while.
