Subject: Best 80's glam/pop metal songs
Written By: VegettoVa90 on 08/10/08 at 9:05 pm
Though I'm not necessarily the biggest fan of the genre, I definitely am a big fan of Motley Crue, Def Leppard, and GnR and love a lot of the listed songs by Whitesnake and Bon Jovi. 'Round and Round' and 'Wait' are also really good, but the other songs I don't really care for. What are your opinions?
My picks - 'Wildside', 'Girls, Girls, Girls', 'Sweet Child O' Mine', 'It's So Easy', 'Here I Go Again'

Who sings all these songs though?

It could've done with the artists name to be honest, especially for the one word songs. But anyway any poll with "Photograph" in it gets my vote!

Here I Go Again- Whitesnake
Once Bitten Twice Shy - Great White
Pour Some Sugar on Me - Def Leppard
Girls, Girls, Girls - Motley Crue
Paradise City - Guns N Roses
I remember hearing these ones played a lot in clubs here in the SF bay area in the 80's

I love any 80's Whitesnake, Guns N Roses, and Def Leppard.
Also, you are missing some big Bon Jovi 80s tunes - You Give Love A Bad Name, Runaway.
Van Halen who could have 20 songs on this list.

Exactly!
some of the poll songs confuse me ...
Heaven - is that the one by Bryan Adams?
Round and Round - I didn't know Spandau Ballet were glam/pop
Wait - Wow! Now I never would have thought Wang Chung were glam
Is This Love? - OK, now I know Alison Moyet wasn't glam at all

Eh, if you don't know the artists name then chances are that you probably wouldn't pick it anyway. And besides, it's pretty obvious that you're not being serious.
For everyone else, I don't know if this helps but I did group all of the songs accoridng to the artist (i.e. Girls, Girls, Girls is right next to Wildside and Home Sweet Home and Foolin is next to Photograph). I'll probably go back and put in the artists names if this poll gets popular enough...or if some people don't stop compaining :o

From your list I chose...
Here I go again
Photograph
Dr. Feelgood
I forgot who did some of the others.
Should have looked at the thread before posting.
I could go on about an other option for the poll, but I think I've done that too often.

I know who sings all those songs. But there could be some people who don't. It would help to have artist names, but what do I know. It's your poll. Carry on

I went with - Round and Round, Photograph, Living on a Prayer, Here I Go Again and Welcome to the Jungle. Those are classics. 8)
I don't see anything wrong with this poll either. Most of those songs were pretty popular, so any hairmetal fan probably would KNOW the titles by heart (I did and i'm only a marginal fan) and if they didn't, chances are they wouldn't click on it.
Other than some of the big names (i.e. Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and maybe Whitesnake) most of the hair bands usually just had some great singles, and their albums were pretty boring. I guess you could arguably put Van Halen in there too (though they're more pop and classic rock influenced).
