Subject: The Motels or someone else?

I'm trying to recall a song from the early 80s or late 70s. In my mind the band sounds like The Motels but I can't find it. There was definitely a lyric with "fashion capitol" and then maybe "looks so hard yeah-ah" or "works so hard yeah-ah". These are thin clues I know. Any help please?
