'The Lexicon of Love' was the debut album by British new wave group ABC in 1982.
Upon release, it hit #1 in the UK and all 4 singles reached the UK Top 40. By late 1982, the album became a success in North America and to date, remains their most successful album in both the UK and North America. As compared to the UK, the album was not as big of a success as it could have been in America, but when you think of all the albums and singles in the charts, 'The Lexicon of Love' did just fine

Lexicon is a terrific album. Trevor Horn's production is great and the song writing is also quite strong.

^ I totally forgot it was produced by Horn. I can assume it was post ZTT, otherwise it would have been on the ZTT label LOL

My dad has this on LP. I have a 'best of' CD that features pretty much everything I wanted from ABC. 8)

A superb, coherent album which, sad to say, proved way too difficult for the band to equal... :-\\
It was an instant success, debuting at pole position in the UK album charts in 1982, but curiously, it didn't achieve gold status until many years later...something which I find quite hard to believe, but that's the BPI for you... ::)

I don't have any of their albums, but I loved their sound and have got all of their singles which charted in the US...
I might look into getting their greatest hits CD one of these days... :)

The best one to get is the first official one titled 'Absolutely ABC' that came out in 1990 :)
