You couldn't have grown up in the 80's without watching them.

Mine is the Garfield Halloween Special. Here's a little bit of it.

I love both the Garfield Halloween and Christmas specials. I even owned the book versions when I was a kid (I think I still have the Halloween book stored away somewhere).

Claymation Christmas from the late 80s - the best part is at the end where The California Raisins sing Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer. 8)

The Simpason's Christmas Special, when "The Simpsons" was just a weird new cartoon by Matt Groening, xmas 1989 was about the last time that happened!

The Garfield Halloween Special is definitely way up there. I love it when they meet the ghost pirate and Garfield goes to Odie "Do you think we should believe him?" - perfect comedy timing.

I love PacMan too. Where oh where are the dvds is what I wanna know?

My favorite from the 1980's has to be the Will Vinton Christmas Special, hands down.

Made in 1987, I was lucky enough to tape it and would watch it over and over again. In fact, if memory serves me right it's premiere was right before the Garfield Christmas Special's first broadcast as well.

And while my tape is long gone, I can still watch it on You Tube.

WHile I can do without some segments, I always loved their version of Carol Of The Bells and We Three Kings.

I always like when garfield says, Candy, Candy, Candy as if he's about to go into a seizure.

Thanks for sharing the clips! They were great all the way through - the best parts for me were Joy to the World with its neat animated images and as I stated earlier my all-time favorite part was the California Raisins number at the end. 8)

One of my favorite 80's Christmas specials was a TV movie called, "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear"...starring Mickey Rooney and a young Scott Grimes. Mickey played the grandfather who died...but was given a chance to come back to Earth for a short while to spend time with his grandson. I LOVED this one! I haven't seen it in years though...I wish they would air it again.
