Can't remember if there has been a poll for this group before; anyway I will cast my votes for Hold On Loosely, Back to Paradise (from Revenge of the Nerds II) and Second Chance although I like just about every song I've listed here.
(BTW: 38 Special frontman Donnie Van Zant is the younger brother Lynyrd Skynyrd's Ronnie Van Zant, who sadly was one of the members of that band killed in the 1977 plane crash)

Teacher, Teacher is my favourite. It's the title song from the 1984 motion picture 'Teachers'
Both 'Teacher, Teacher' and 'Back to Paradise' were written by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, thus qualifying them for Canadian Content, which meant both songs got MASSIVE radio play up here back in the day. 'Back to Paradise' was also co-written by Pat Benatar

Another vote for "Second Chance". I had the video saved to my faves on YouTube and was just listening to it the other day. Still a great, powerful love ballad, the kind of song that no longer gets made...
