Oh my. I discovered this beautiful toy tonight. Has anyone ever had one of these? Were they happy with it? I checked on Ebay, and they're pretty expensive now, but I'm definitely going to save up for one.
Here is a video that was just about completely made with a Fisher Price PXL 2000 Pixel-Vision. I'm absolutely in love with the haunting feel it creates.

You can do the same thing with just about any $200 dvd video camera and Windows Movie maker. :)

this is pretty cool! i can't watch the video at work, but just looking at the picture makes me want one too! :) i love 80's electronics.

I think he meant to express hope that you bid on the camera, and were successful in acquiring one :)
Speaking of which, it's been a while. Didja get one? Pretty amazing what they were able to do with conventional cassette tape as a recording medium.
If and when you do, know that the PXL-2000 is highly hackable (the hack where someone uses a modern PVR in place of the casette is pretty neat...)
In the meantime, you've also got almost a whole year to come up with something to show at next year's PXL THIS film festival, typically held in SoCal in May.
