Since we're talking about the whole 80s decade from 1980-1989, my favorite 80s concert was a New Jack Swing concert in September 1989 when I saw The Boys, Kool Moe Dee, Heavy D and The Boys, Three Times Dope, MC Hammer (before he went pop all the way), and Guy. It was my first concert.

I went to two concerts in the 80s...
Gloria Estefan Miami Sound Machine - Let It Loose Tour 1987
Tina Turner - Break Every Rule Tour 1988
However for favourite concert (not seen), the honours go to Five Star Children of the Night Tour 1987

Five Star!!!! I remember them when they first came out with "All Fall Down" in 1985. At first, I thought it was New Edition because the lead singer sounded like the younger Ralph Tresvant at the time. I like their songs, "Let Me Be The One" and "I Can't Wait Another Minute". I remember when the commercial use the latter song as a commercial jingle!!!

Ha ha, I was only 11 yrs old and went with my Mum, brother and sister. We even brought sandwiches with us in case we got hungry. :-[ ;D
All in all it was GREAT! They had so many huge hits back then, so the atmosphere was non-stop... you can imagine the crowd going crazy for "1-2-3" etc. Her ballads were as beautiful as ever. I actually went to the Kuala Lumpur Malaysia one - her South-east Asian part of the world tour.

Yeah, it was huge back in the day. I remember when the sound started in 1987 when I first heard Keith Sweat's I Want Her. Then in 1988, I heard Johnny Kemp's Just Got Paid, Al B. Sure!'s Nite and Day, Bobby Brown's Don't Be Cruel, and the rest was history!!!!!!!! I'm getting out of topic, but I just want to throw that there.

Me neither. I was kinda young back then. In fact, I don't think I attended any concerts at all at the time.
I did go to plays.
So did I. I know I saw a few plays during my single-digit years. :)

Yeah, and if I did go to any concerts, I don't think I remember them at all. I remember plays, most notably seeing The Sound of Music and also Fiddler on the Roof.

The only concert really worth anything that I saw IN the 80's was Tears for Fears. I've seen plenty of 80's bands though, most notably Duran Duran 4 times so far ;)

Why didn't you mention Michael Jackson or Prince? :-Bad tour.
And Prince's birthday show in 1986 kicked serious (bleep). That was the Parade tour.
Did DeBarge go on tour at all?

I don't think they did any huge tours on their own, but they did support Luther Vandross in 1984. I would've loved to have seen Debarge in the 80s - they were great!
