Innocence? Ma'am, Ollie North would like to have a word with you..!
I thought the topic was about the band America...
"You Can Do Magic" was okay. Reminds me of playing kissy-face with my girlfriend in the back of the bus on the road home from away games. Come to think of it, most things remind me of that...WTF ???

Remember the early personal cassette players? Those babies were made out of metal! They were HEAVY! I had an old Aiwa and that thing must've weighed half a pound..!

My mother had one that was made of metal like that. Had a nice silver-like polish to it.

It was a Top 40 hit in 1983, and was their last ever chart appearance in the US Hot 100 ...

Hello Snozberries :)
I loved the 80s. The hair...no such word as too big !!! I remember walkmen. My friend Laura took hers on a class field trip and let me test it out. The sound filled your ears yet no one else could hear it ...I was amazed.... I thought all the kids who had them were soo cool. Remember Cassingles. How about taping songs from the radio in the middle of the song?? Jane Fonda workout tapes were all the rage. Forget VCRs what the heck were those giant machines right before VCRs. were they beta machines??? How about rollerskating??? In NYC Laces was very popular.

Helllo back... you must caught me when I was pondering about this board.
I had Beta but since it was hard to find tapes we ended up getting a VCR.
It seems my family always made the wrong choice electronically so we ended up shelling out more money for the stuff because we had to buy a different one than we originally purchased.
I remember the first time I entered a video rental store... the thought of watching any movie (almost any movie) anytime I wanted was amazing to me.
When we got the VCR it was 1982 - my 15th B-day- we rented Entity and Mad Man... from that moment on I had my own rental card and was at the video store every weekend!
It didn't occur to me to start taping tv shows until the 90s I wish I had a better sense then about what shows wouldn't make it so I could have recorded them (although tapes would probably be broken by now anyway!)

The 80s were a fun time !!! You happen to be a whopping three years older than me, I will remember to respect my elders when posting lol. I think once we got to the 90s, everything changed as far as fashion is concerned. What was a memorable fashion of the 90s besides the Jeniiffer Aniston haircut. "the rachel"
