Subject: 80's "halloween" music
Written By: deetric1 on 09/09/07 at 11:17 pm
Ok, so not from the actual movie "Halloween"~
There is a great band we go see play live all the time, and they play mostly 80's alt rock. We asked them if they could play at a house party, such as a Halloween Party. This got me thinking back to songs like "Dead Man's Party" and such! Do you have any other fun halloween-ish songs you could suggest? They should be songs these guys (from the band) would be able to remember or find so they could in fact play them, of course! Band names would be totally helpful ;)
Thanks!

There's another song on Oingo Boingo's "Dead Man's Party" album called "No One Lives Forever" that is just about one of the coolest tunes I've ever heard! Does this band have a horn section?

Ministry: (Every Day is) Halloween
Siouxsie and the Banshees: Halloween
Fred Schneider & The Shake Society: Monster
And of course you can choose pretty much any track from any release by Bauhaus or Skinny Puppy!
BTW, the Iggy Pop song you're thinking of is "Funtime." The Cars did a cover of it.
"Fun - Hey, I feel lucky tonight
Fun - I'm gonna get stoned and run around
All aboard for a funtime
Fun - Last night I was down in the lab
Fun - Talkin' to Dracula and his crew
All aboard for funtime."
A reference to Bobby "Boris" Pickett's "Monster Mash."
The joke is he's mixing up the two monster movie archetypes: Dracula and Frankenstein.

This used to spook me out in the car driving to school in the mornings...
The Specials - Ghost Town

Then there's of course the usual MJ "Thriller" ;D
For more fun stuff don't forget the Ghostbuster's soundtrack.
