Wow, I'd never thought they'd make a movie on Ian Curtis.
I used to be really into Joy Division in the early 80's.
Though I still love the songs, I can't listen to the music anymore, just too dark for my soul.
Going to be a tough call deciding if I want to see this flick... :-\\

I still only really know 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'. Paul Young does a neat cover of it on his 1983 'No Parlez' album

Years ago people laughed at me when I said the story of Joy Division would make a good movie. I always pictured it in stark black and white, sort of the anti-Doors. Ian Curtis was not "rock 'n' roll suicide" it was "working class suicide."
Deborah Curtis' (his widow) bio/autobio came out about 10 years ago. I'd say it's high time for the movie.
Anton Corbijn is one of a few directors I would trust with the project.
God I loved Joy Division when I was a kid! I lived through every Joy Division song once if not multiple times. I used to call Ian "the author and finisher of my fate."

Joy Division, often imitated, NEVER duplicated. There was only ONE Ian Curtis and there will never be another!

Jeez, I don't care if the movie turns out to be crap. I'm just glad they made it!
