Subject: "ABC Afterschool Specials" (1972)

Written By: coco_pup on 08/24/07 at 12:00 am

Is there a soundtrack listing that can be found for the episodes, Starstruck (1981) with Trini Alvarado and the episode Out of step? I really like the songs she sings on her guitar can you get them or are they available?

If anyone can help me or perhaps tell me if you can get this on DVD that would be great.

Thanks,

Ellie.

Well,I don't remember that particular episode.  The only 1980s After School Special I've ever seen is The Wave.  My eighth grade English teacher showed it to us because we were reading Ann Frank, and she wanted to illustrate how powerful a cult like the Nazis could be. Now whenever I run into one of my buddies form my 98-99 eighth grade year we almost always say, "strength through community, strength through discipline, strength through action."

For a really good time, check out the original experiment and the  followup experiment that ended up inspiring the classroom experiment that was documented in the TV special.

Once upon a time, we let our citizens know about these sorts of experiments because they explained how the bad countries became the way they were, and that one ought to keep an eye out for the first sign of such thinking.  These sorts of programmes don't get aired any more.  I guess that's because the threat has gone away. We have a zero-tolerance policy that covers this sort of thing.  Nothing to see here, Citizen.  These are not the droids you're looking for.  Move along.
