wow I vague remember catching troll in the 80's on HBO at either 2am or very early Sunday morning...you know when they air crap....but I forgot it was that bad.  And I thought People Under the Stairs sucked...

Wow good question... at least when they remake an awful movie you don't expect much and, with advances in technology, there is potential to improve on some aspect but remaking a good movie is almost sacrilege. I mean it was already done well so don't break it!

Yeah I say attempting to remake a good movie is far worse... remaking a bad one is just stupid. Let's stick with mediocre remakes of mediocre films  or just really lame sequels  :D

By the way, it gets worse, Troll has a sequel called Troll 2.

Interesting enough, there is charecter in Troll, named Harry Potter, and this was before the books or film came out.

The reason remaking "Troll" is such a horrible idea (other than the obvious) is the whole "Harry Potter" thing.

J.K. Rowling was accused of ripping off her idea for Harry Potter from the movie "Troll".  The main character in the movie is named Harry Potter and it deals with wizardry, magic and trolls. I believe there was even a lawsuit against her a couple years back for ripping off the movie "Troll"

I would imagine they would change the character's names and stuff for the remake...
