Subject: "Stop Making Sense" movie (1984) Hit or Miss
Written By: woops on 05/30/07 at 2:04 am
Have anybody seen "Stop Making Sense", a concert film featuring Talking Heads directed by Johnathan Demme?
"Girlfriend Is Better", "Once In A Lifetime", "Burning Down The House", "Take Me To The River", and "Genius Of Love" (Tom Tom Club) would be among the best from the film.

I actually watch it once a month...it's one of my favorite films...not just concert films. I love to watch David Byrn'es transition from art nerd to guitar god....and the others put on a great show. Tina carries "Genius of Love" well and Jerry Harrison dancing with the back up singers..however badly is funny and charming.
I think it was a great show movie. Very low tech yet theatrical.
I'm a fan.

I enjoyed it. It has an art house feel.

I originally saw it in the theater on the big screen.
I've watched it quite recently. I give it two big thumbs up... :)
