Anyone else like Japan? I love alot of their songs, but I never really liked 'Ghosts'. It's difficult to sing along with lol

This is an incomplete discography as I don't know what's beyond the UK Top 40, and whether or not they had any chart success in America ...

Can't say I was a fan (they were a bit too arty and pretentious for my tastes), but I did actually like 'Ghosts' for its stark, moody feel...
A few months later, they hit with a rather untypical cover of 'I Second That Emotion'...and also rather untypical, they seemed to be contracted to two record labels at the same time!

I always wanted to like Japan, but never did.
I like a lot of David Sylvian's solo stuff, though.

I think this is a topic very deserving of attention for fans of 80s groups that can be considered somewhat "underground."
I picked up Gentlemen Take Polaroids while visiting Hawaii, needed some good ambient music at work. Just picked up the disc on a whim while nostalgic for Japan actual .
I later tried to figure out why the band chose their name. Was it the same mysterious attraction for the country that Westerners find over there? Is that why the band is appealing in some part?
Later I learned they are part of a new wave sub-genre someone dreamed up: the "new romantics." Pretty apt title. Lumped together with other groups like Duran Duran, what comes to mind are the guys running around wearing suits to their concerts and etc.
Very cool band; it's too bad that they're kind of tough to find information on.

Saw a guest viewing this, and realized I never voted.
I have always loved 'Life in Tokyo' the best, followed by 'Quiet Life'
I never used to know the former was a hit in Canada (as it is a song I do not remember at all), but I was pleasantly surprised when I found out.
