Subject: Gimme A Break!

Gimme A Break was a show that ran for 6 season on NBC 1981-1987. I loved to watch it when I was growing up, and now that the first 2 seasons are on DVD, I can enjoy them all over again. Anyone else like this show?

I used to watch this show but I can hardly remember any of it now! I wish some tv network would do reruns of it here!

I liked it until Dolph Sweet died . (He played the father.) Joey and Matthew Lawrence were annoying. My favorite episode was when Samantha thought she was pregnant because she kissed a boy.

I really liked Nell Carter. She could really sing well and she was funny. This show was written really well.

It was a good show indeed. Julie was my favorite. I didn't like it much once they moved out of the house into that apartment with Joey "I'm so freaking annoying" Lawrence and his brother.

I very vaguely remember that show...pretty funny, but like everyone already said, once Joey Lawrence made his appearance things started their slide downhill. ;)

I often think of Season 6 as a spin-off. The chief passed away, the daughters all moved out, and Nell, Joey and Grandpa moved to New York with Addy. And with the addition of more new characters, it almost was a whole different show. I liked Joey's character, but Season 5 should have been it.
Season 6 was quite a let down :\'(

I used to watch it all the time in it's original run. I'm holding out for season 3 on dvd as it has Andy Gibb in it... ;D
