What were your first purchases in the 80s? I was an early starter!

I never started buying music until the 90s, but my mom bought alot of stuff that I used to listen to. There are more, but these are the only ones which survived over the years ...

Nice choices there Midas, even Pray was okay at the time... in fact that's probably the only song of his I liked.

I had Shaun Cassidy's Da Doo Run Run album, and then moved on to Foghat Live 8track when I was about 12.. Got my first cassette (Rolling Stones Tattoo You) when I was about 14. I still had albums and 45's but was starting to transition into cassettes around 8th grade.

Nice choices there Midas, even Pray was okay at the time... in fact that's probably the only song of his I liked.
I bought the CD single because I was unable to find the remixes on vinyl. Still drop that track from time to time.

Mine were all either cassette, or full 33 1/3 vinyl.
Although I DID have a few 8-Tracks lying around...

Well my first music came from bootleg tapes my dad bought me from theran(now Iran) when he went there with the R.A.F. ;D
the first music I bought myself would be some 7 inch singles.

Can't remember the album but I'm sure it was vinyl. I started buying cassettes for a bit because I didn't have a stereo for a while (only a little cassette player). I didn't get a CD player until the 1990.

I didn't know he was popular in the States. He was a Canadian. I wonder if he still performs these days
EDIT: I remember an episode of Full House where Michelle was addicted to his 1978 classic "Baby Beluga" :D

45'sand as for LP's,24 Great Tearjerkers by K-Tel and ABBA Greatest Hits Volume II were the first albums i had of my very own 8)

First 45 I ever owned was "Shock the Monkey/Solbury Hill", by Peter Gabriel.
I inherited my grandma's record collection, when she died.
I have all SORTS of shtuff in there!
