Subject: When in Rome

Written By: Kryllith on 07/25/06 at 12:16 pm

So I went to see When in Rome and Animotion over the weekend and found out that When in Rome is FINALLY (after 17 years) cutting a second album. They played at least four new songs at the concert, which were all quite good. One of the new singles can also be heard at their mywho site (mywho.com/wheninrome).

Animotion also seems to have a few new songs, although I don't know if they were planning on cutting a new album as well. I got them impression that they were, so it's worth keeping on eye out for it as well.

Me too...that's the only song of theirs that was a big hit in the U.S., hence the only one I know.

One question, what's this mywho thingy?  ;D

When in Rome had three hits:  "The Promise", "Heaven Knows" and "Sight of Your Tears", all three of which broke the US Dance Top 40.  Heaven Knows stalled at #95 in America, making "The Promise" their lone Top 40 hit within the mainstream

I agree. Excellent song.

I picked up their album at Tower and it was not disappointing. I hope they find reasonable success this time around. I know they're doing heavy touring and promotion to try to expand their following.

Piece of trivia: The lead singer of WIR was also the leader of a group called "Carnival Art".

He went under the name 'Michael Petak', and the band was known for the song "Mr. Blue Vein".

mywho, myspace, whatever you want to call it, it's the thing I rarely use. :)

I went and saw WiR again in Dallas back in November when they were touring with A Flock of Seagulls. WiR chatted around with everyone for quite some time, but unfortunately Mike and the rest of the Flock didn't (unlike the last time I saw the Flock).
