I like "It Doesn't Have to Be This Way" the best, followed by the ever popular "Digging Your Scene" :)

Me too. I thought they were a one hit wonder with that song, but that was only in the U.S..

They had a whole hadnful of hits in the UK
"Digging Your Scene" was their only entry into the American Charts. In Canada, they had a second hit with "It Doesn't Have to Be This Way", which was also their most successful UK hit :)

Not really, Jeff...all the other titles listed above were very minor-ish British hits, most of which were ho-hum...
Ask most Brits and they'll only remember 'Digging Your Scene' & 'It Doesn't Have To Be This Way'...

"It Doesn't Have to Be This Way" was featured on the 1987 soundtrack to "Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol", so it would have gotten a but of recognition in America

The Monkeys never really captured my imagination. Their 2 biggest hits all sounded much of a muchness to me.....'Digging Your Scene' and 'It Doesn't Have To Be This Way' are just way too similar, and I didn't really care for either.

I chose Forbidden Fruit, I mean like everyone 'Digging your Scene' is probably there best song, but 'Forbidden Fruit' is very good. The video isn't bad either, with everything in reverse. As with 'Digging your Scene' the lyrics are pretty wild. I guess everyone knows that 'Digging Your Scene' was one of the first songs written about AIDS.

Thats ok, most people didn't.
I think I was one of the few that heard of them.
Along with The The, Fishbone, The Hoodo Gurus and the like, we were pretty sheltered from anything out of the usual US pop stuff in the late 80's.
I thought "Diggin Your Scene" was great and a breath of fresh air at the time
