Subject: '90s films that could fool you into believing it was still the '80s

Two that quickly come to mind are Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (complete with animated intro, hugely popular in late '80s family and/or comedy films) from 1991 and Class Act from 1992. Both are very '80s which leads me to another question, when exactly did the change in '90s trends and technology visually take over in film? Was it 1993? When did the perks and little nuances of the 1990's finally sweep over into movies and change the way we view them today? Were the above mentioned films just living in the past and are actually just two rare coincidences of a nineties film reeking of the '80s? I know most of the answers to all those questions couldn't happen in just a short period of time but was constantly evolving, probably even while still in the 1980's. For example, a film like The Abyss was pushing toward the CGI boom of the '90s and 2000's.

1990: 70% 80s, 30% 90s
1991: 55% 80s, 45% 90s
1992: 60% 90s, 40% 80s
1993: 90% 90s, 10% 80s

But what's also weird is that even a film released in 1991, that is supposedly very ninteties, featuring 90s music and using state of the art special fx, just is not the same 90s film as something released during the years 1995 to 1999. Know what I mean? For instance, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, from 1991, has a cameo by Vanilla Ice towards the end. Vanilla Ice = 1990's. But I for some reason would identify that with more of an '80s artifact, than the '90s, which I see as ultimately, on the whole, a very serious, dark and pretentious decade.
Also, while examining films from the early '80s to the late '80s there is a difference, in terms of many things such as budgets, technology, music, etc. but are still comparable and even similar feeling/looking in many ways. Try and compare a film from the early '90s to one from the late '90s and there will be very, very few things in common (almost completely looking decades, if you ask me.)

1992 was much more 90's than 80's, I remember 1992 very well
Here is a better graph
1990: 75% Eighties, 25% Nineties
1991: 40% Eighties, 60% Nineties
1992: 15% Eighties, 85% Nineties
1993: 5% Eighties, 95% Nineties

Yeah...1991 was more of a sudden transition as opposed to the slow transition of the other graph.

Seeing as how I've never even visited the '90s board this is a rather strange coincidence.
