Subject: Jethro Tull 'Crest Of A Knave' album award

Written By: Carl on 06/26/06 at 8:20 am

Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Jethro Tull, love their sound and style, but didn't this album win something along the lines of best 'Heavy Metal' or something in '87? Never considered JT metal, so this is pretty wierd. I know around that time they have already been around for some 20 years, maybe it was just out of respect, I don't get it though.

I only know one song by Jethro Tull, We Used To Know and that certainly isn't metal.

Oops! Why did I think '87?  ::) My bad!

Well, that clears things up a bit more when they say Hard Rock/Heavy Metal. JT is more on the hard rock side I think. Thanks for the link  ;)

I love Crest Of A Knave, I think it's one of Tull's finest works, along with Storm Watch.

Yes Cat, another classic. It's in my top five Tull albums.

Yes and Metallica expected to win and the band and their fans were rather POed when Tull beat them out.
