From the Price is Right, it's the "Showcase of the Future" from 1980. How cool is this 8)

Nothing better than the classic episodes of The Price is Right, I wished they still had these home viewer showcases today.

I was only 2 at the time ;D
What kills me about the clip. It's obviously a Star Wars spoof, yet the music being used sounds like a cross between Star Wars and Superman? ;D

It is still a great show 8)
I wish they'd bring back some of the old Pricing games. I really miss "Bump", where JAnice would wind up her hips ;D

That was really a blast to watch. Bob Barker was so young, as was Johnny Olson. And the Showcase of the Future - Wow, probably all those items are in the junkyard now. :\'(

I know, that's sad isn't it? :(
Cool retro video, though. Just looking at it in "real" time, you can tell the '80s were very very "futuristic minded" - heck, I bet people in 1980 thought we'd have daily space travel by now. ;D If someone from that audience saw the real 2006, they'd probably only think it was around 1994 or something.

Just like people in the '00s are...we're very futuristic minded...I've actually heard somebody on this board say that 4-year olds would be on message boards on the '10s...

I can see going on the computer, but they're REALLY futuristic minded to think a 4-year old would log into a messageboard and post, etc. TV is one thing because you're doing something, but the Internet is more like video games in the "activity" sense. Maybe, like, 8 or 10-year olds, but not 4, lol.
I think the '00s are more futuristic thought rooted in mindset (such as that one) while the '80s were more technology and lifestyle futuristic-thoughted. Which is understandable, because alot of that stuff was pretty new at the time (video games, people going into space - aka: the Challenger, MTV).
