Subject: Was the '60s Revival Stronger in Britain in the '80s?
Written By: velvetoneo on 05/06/06 at 4:08 pm
I get that sense. For one, Britain had a "summer of love" due to the use of ecstasy and other hallucinogens in 1968, with shoegazing music, and the British new wave/synthpop was heavily, heavily influenced by the British Invasion and Motown music from the mid '60s. Also, with Britpop, there continued to be a late '60s revival through the '90s.
