Basically, it's a super-repetitive beat of synth bleeps and some English guy talking about a warm leatherette, whatever the f that is. This has to be the worst new wave song ever, and one of the worst songs ever.

I disagree, it was a very popular song here in Houston during the late 80's. Warm Leatherette is a fresh dead body that is pulled from a car wreck.

I actually listened to it again ... what a creepy song. It's kind of funny, in a really dark way though.

I happen to enjoy this song. It's got an aloof, disconnected feel to it. It's actually one of the influential tracks in the development of electronic music.

Actually, warm leatherette as referred to in the song is the composition of the seat material and making love on it before the car crash victim dies; not a dead body.
