Subject: A DJ mix from (approx) 1987/1988
Written By: Jolynne on 04/04/06 at 8:55 am
Around 1987, one of my best friends brought me with an unlabeled cassette tape of a mix of songs by a DJ. I can't remember where she got it, if it was local (we were in Tulsa, OK, so I seriously doubt it) or who mixed it.
I do remember that the first line was "Ladies and gentlemen, the dream team is in the house" and then next line was, "Can you say Yo Baby Yo Baby Yo....." Then it went on to have various artists of both rap and dance music. I remember lines like "I'm hooked on you" (by Sweet Sensation) and "Sum-sum-summertime."
Does this ring a bell with anyone? I loved that mix tape - in fact, I wore it out because I played it so much. I remember my friend saying it was made by a pro and not someone we knew, so I'm hoping someone else remembers it! 8)

The lyrics "ladies and gentlemen the dream team is in the house" is a song from L.A. Dream Team. I am looking for that CD but it is really hard to find. I know exactly what CD you are talking about. I am from Seattle and my cousins had that same CD. It was a great CD. If I find more information on this CD I will let you know.
