anyone remember the Australian New Romantic group Real Life?

They had two US Top 40 hits with Send Me An Angel and Catch Me I'm Falling , both which featured on their 1983 debut album "Heartland"
Their biggest hit came in 1989 with Send Me An Angel '89 , a remix of their original 1983 hit. This new version featured in the popular movie "The Wizard"

In fact, that's the only song of theirs I know...and for a long time I thought they were a one hit wonder. Guess I was...Wrong! ;D

"Send Me An Angel" is a great song. I don't seem to hear it enough. It would be perfect for soft rock stations, but they always go on default to Celine Dion ::)

Send Me an Angel is one of my favorite songs of all time. I have it on my system and listen to it at least 3-4 times a week.

I was always more partial to the 89 version of Send Me an Angel. That synthesiser sounded like a ghost in certain parts. It was way cool. Plus, I have seen the movie 'The Wizard' many times, and I have fond memories of this song though the film :)

I saw them in concert quite a few times in the 80s.
Lead singer Dave Sterry is still touring Oz and Europe regularly. Last time I saw him live was about 18 months ago. Still has a great voice.

Hmm, gotta go against popular opinion and say that 'Send Me An Angel' was to me no more than an average pop ditty. The chart positions I think accurately reflect that...unless I'm missing something here.
I didn't know there were 2 versions...the version I've heard is quite a pop/synth cut. Is there another?

The other version used a heavier drum sound
