Just curious to see which band gets the most votes as far as popularity. Both bands had power ballads, for example "Keep on Loving You" and "Open Arms". These songs will always be remembered as the song being played at your prom. Both of the lead singers from each band were great songwriters as well. Musically who do you prefer? I personally prefer Journey :D

Journey has alot of songs I like, but REO has the best song in "Can't Fight This Feeling".

REO Speedwagon for me. Their 1987 album "Life as We Know It" is one of my all-time faves of the 80's :)

I can name 6 Journey songs I really, really like. I cannot do that for REO, even though I like REO.

Journey appeals to me more. The guy from REO always sounded off key to me. The tunes need to incite me enough. Journey had better hooks and catchier synth.

REO Speedwagon had some really good songs that weren't popular. Like 157th Riverside Ave. Awesome song...and Riding the Storm Out. I think that one was released but to me they are more known for their ballads.

Steve Perry has an amazing voice. I love listening to any of their songs just to get to hear him sing.

REO Speedwagon, I used to listen to them all the time until the first time I saw them inconcert. It was a real disappointment. Even so, I still had the albums to listen to.
I never got into Journey after Stve Perry joined the group. His voice just annoys the hell out of me.
