Subject: Best Yaz(oo) Song

I like "Nobody's Diary" the best, but the others are almost equal. It's hard to choose really.
Although, I much prefer the the Flying Pickets version of "Only You"

Move out, don't mess around, you bring me down....
"Situation" definitely. However, I like "Don't Go" as well just not as much as Situation.

I loved Yaz and enjoyed all of the songs listed in this poll. I voted for "Only You", such a heartbreaking song powered by Alison Moyet's amazing voice! :)

I like State Farm. I'm kind of burned out on Don't go and Situation as they get remixed so often.

Don't Go, because it's the only one I know.

I didn't know that this was an 80s band. I picked "Only You" because I heard it in the movie Can't Hardly Wait and it is a great song.

State Farm.
The 3:36 original (Track 10, "You and Me Both", 1983) is the purest form.
The 6:31 12" mix (Track 05, "The 12 inch Mixes", 1993) is just about as good.
The 6:17 mix (Track 07 - Ultimix 38, 1991) is... different. And spectacular in its own right. I believe Les Massengale was responsible for the mix. That mix descends from a 5" CD (source http://homepage.mac.com/justified_type/discogs/BPM/JTs-BPM-list.txt )
3:18 State Farm (Madhouse Mix - Edit) Yaz MUTE RCDYAZ4: promo
...and according to that list, I'm missing the *original* Madhouse Mix (at 5:26) from 80s DJ (and resident god of DMC vinyl releases) Paul Dakeyne, 1990, although the 6:17 mix from the Ultimix release is basically the same as the 3:37.

Yep. I'm still missing a mix.
Gads, I've got to stop coming here. Every time I come here, I end up having to add yet more vinyl (or in this case, polycarbonate) to my collection.

I picked 'other' because there is a song off their first LP 'Goodbye Seventies' which is VERY good.

It's another hard one, 'Dont Go' just has such a great synth rip and Moyet's voice is perhaps at her most powerful.
Close behind is 'Situation' as it's just such a cool vibe, great background music for any retro party.

'Didn't I bring your love down' is another GREAT song off the 'Upstairs at Erics' LP
