My all-time favorite tag team is from Wrestlemania I: Hulk Hogan and Mr. T.  As for villains, you really couldn't go wrong with Nikoli Volkov and the Iron Sheik.

I was watching WWE the other night and Marty Jannety was in the ring with Vince McMahon, who was going to make him kiss his ass to get employment back in the WWE.  Talk about terrible television  ::)

That was my first thought too. I always thought Marty Jannety was pretty hot.  :-[
Though I did quite like the British Bulldogs as well.

Since you asked for the best...

The Road Warriors were hands-down the best tag team in the 80s.  Depending on whether they were faces or heels, they always got the most crowd response wherever they went.  They also won titles in every federation they wrestled in and always commanded the highest paychecks.  Honestly, if wrestling was real, these are last guys I would have wanted to face.  My rankings are below.

1.  Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal)
2.  Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson
3.  Rockers (Midnight Rockers - Shawn Michaels & Marty Janetty)
4.  Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart)
5.  Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane)
6.  British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid)
7.  Freebirds (Michael Hayes & Terry Gordy & Jim Garvin)
8.  Rock & Roll Express (Rick Morton & Robert Gibson)
9.  Fantastics (Tommy Rodgers & Bobby Fulton)
10. Demolition (Ax & Smash)
*    Blade Runners (Sting & Ultimate Warrior)

*Honorable Mention:  They were only together for a short time, but were successful for a brief time.

Here's one I almost forgot about ... The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (Jacques and Raymond).  The fact that they were Canadian was also awesome :)

Their signature move was the "La Bombe De Rougeau", which was basically a Bear Hug hold with a flying crossbody combo.  It was always exciting to see 8)

Jacques would later wrestle solo under the name The Mountie

Well my top 5 would go like this:
1. King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd
2. Hart foundation
3. Bulldogs
4. Demolition
5. Iron Sheik and Volkoff

I miss the old style wrestling and remember spending Saturday afternoons watching Stampede Wrestling which featured the then very young Daveyboy Smith, Dynatime Kid, Jim Neidhart, and of course the Hart boys..Bret, Owen, Keith, Bruce..etc.back when they were lucky if they weighed 150 pounds lol. and then WWF would come on after it. Good shows.

Cant believe out of all these great lists, no one mentioned Nikita Koloff, Ivan Koloff, and Krusher Kruschev. Several of the teams on your lists were beat by these guys. They held the NWA/WCW tage team titles on several ocassions, and any 2 of the 3 could defend the belts. They also had the six man tag team title for quite a long time. This is the most underrated and forgotten team in wrestling history. Alot of people think the road warriors were the first wrestlers to have the WCW/NWA tag belts, and then go on to win the WWf belts. Not true. That record goes to Krusher Kruschev, who was Smash in Demolition. Nikita Koloff went on to win the U.S. title, but sadly, never won the World title, held by Ric Flair at the time. Ivan Koloff faded from the scene in the late 80's.

These guys had some incredible matches, and had some great feuds with people like The Road Warriors, Rock N Roll Express, Dusty Rhodes and Magnum T.A., Ric Flair, etc.

Unfortunately, they have been forgotten by many.

My area had several wrestling shows on cable...ESPN had World Class Championship Wrestling and the AWA, USA had the WWF Monday night show, WPHL-17 had the NWA and WWF, and WTAF-29 had the WWF shows like "Wrestling Spotlight" and a local channel, Channel 65 from Vineland(now Univision) had UWF Wrestling.. Anyone here remember the Von Erichs? It seemed like a lot of tragedy happened to the Von Erich family.

How about Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake in the WWF?
