Subject: The Traveling Wilburys

Any thoughts on this late 80s supergroup? Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne of ELO, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan and George Harrison made some great music together. I heard "Handle With Care" today on the radio and had forgotten how much I liked the tune.
Following Orbison's death, Del Shannon was said to be his replacement in the group, but he committed suicide shortly thereafter. :(

It always is scary to hear Roy Orbison's singing followed by Bob Dylan :D

Yep. I suppose Del's prospects as a member of the Wilburys had a lot to do with Tom Petty having been his producer during his 80s comeback. Check out his version of "Sea of Love" from '82.
I loved his version of Sea of Love. I listen to it often :)

Jeff Lynne had also worked with Del Shannon. I think all the Wilburys had had some kind of previous involvement. They were a very nice colaberation. I believe their album is pretty hard to find these days.
