Subject: Are Talking Heads new wave?

I'd say certainly so. In fact, they're one of the most definitive New Wave bands. "Once In A Lifetime", "Burning Down The House", and "Wild Wild Life" are awesome. Their videos are really cheesy though, they look so geeky!
Are they generally considered to be '80s or '70s? I think of them as being an Eighties band.

I'm not a huge talking Heads fanatic, but yeah, they were around in the 70's. But their mainstram success was in the early 80's. their bass player is is phenomenal. whoever mixed some of their albums did an outstanding job, cause the bass really sticks out. To this very day, I'm shocked that no one has ripped off that juicy bass line in 'Wild Wild Life'.

One of my favorite bands of all time. "Remain In Light" is probably one of my Top 5 Desert Island discs. As for the Heads looking "geeky"? David Byrne is the man! He's just like me and you...

That's a goody! If I could have my way, that song would have been a smash hit. The lyrics are so funny and thought-provoking.

I think "Once In A Lifetime" is one of the first songs that actually sound 1980s.

I loved their "Little Creatures" album and that song "And She Was"
"The world was moving, she was right there with it and she was"
