Subject: trying to figure out a book...

should be from early 80's (or possibly late 70's) about a fat boy at summer camp who's teased by bullies, gets lost in the forest, finds an old woman's house who gives him stew, he falls asleep, wakes up as a giant frog (no pants, but still wearing his sweatshirt), returns to camp, turns back into himself when he enters his tent. the next night, turns back into frog, finds bullies in bathroom, scares them. not sure if this was an actual book or just a story in a magazine. sound familiar? no clue on author or character name....
