I'm one of a handful of people who would recognize the name Cedric Sharpley as the drummer of Gary Numan, and even I have no idea what became of him.  A Google search is your best bet.  If you can't find anything there, find a Numan discussion board and ask.  I'm sure there are Gary Numan discussion boards!

Sharpley was also credited with the 1980 Visage hit 'Fade To Grey', alongside Billy Currie who also toured with Numan during his 1979 tour.

Currie also had a hand in the 1979 hit 'Cars', and those of you with a keen eye can spot him in the video on Keyboards.

While BC did appear in the Cars video, and toured later that year with Gary, I think he had no hand in the recording of Cars.  I believe he turned up at the end of the album sessions and added some judicious strings to a couple of other tracks, but Cars and most of the tracks were already in the can.  I know... I should get out more.

Back to the topic, Gary reports today that Cedric is recovering in hospital from a heart attack.  Hope the recovery is quick.

I was a Tubeway Army fan and still a Numan fan, I had heard through a Facebook group "Tubeway Days" that Cedrick Sharpley died a few days ago, suspected heart attack!
