Who here remember the California Raisins?  I really liked the ads, the cartoons were ok though.

I liked the California Raisins too.  Would you believe they even had a hit?  Off their 1988 album "Sing The Hit Songs", their version of "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" made a minor dent on the Billboard Charts

I still have a bunch of their tapes, as wekk as all 4 little rubber figurines of the Raisins  8)

I had a copy of the tape, a figure, and a stuffed raisin, with bendable arms.

I remember them very well. We bought the tape to it and sang to the songs all the time. I use to love watching the commercials, cartoons, etc. I even have a picture of my brother wearing a shirt with them on it. They were not very attractive, though, if you think about it .lol

I think the idea came about when the ad-man was backstage at a Grateful Dead show:
"Hey man, my raisins are line dancing and singin' Marvin Gaye...duuuuude!"

I never could stand the California Raisins...everytime a commercial would come on TV...I would cringe.
