I'm pretty surprised not to see "Bizarre Love Triangle" by New Order hit #1 in 1986.  I know that and "Way Of Life" were in the Top 10 of some dance chart that Rolling Stone used to list in their magazine.

Funny how not many people I talk to know songs like "What I Like" by Anthony & The Camp and "Jump Back" by Dhar Braxton.  I heard them on mixshows growing up, but other than that it was rare to hear them on radio.  Too bad more dance music doesn't crossover to Top 40.  Most of it's better than what's in the AT40 list currently.  :P

Lately, there's been more dance songs in the top 40 then there's been since the mid 90's :) 
Listen to Your Heart by DHT is like one of only maybe 6 songs to reach the Billboard Top 40 in the last 5 years :(

In some ways, I'm glad dance music doesn't really make an impact in the top 40.  I like knowing that the songs I listen to aren't greatly overplayed on top 40 stations.  Radio sometimes really overplays a song to death :(
