I remember a show in the mid 80's. . . I was really young at the time.  All I remember is something about this girls mom dying and she wouldn't talk.  She would only write things down.  I think she finally spoke again.  They lived by the ocean. . .I remember someone getting stung by a jellyfish I think.  Please help!  It is driving me crazy!  You can email me at nataliefrost7@yahoo.com
