I borrowed this from a thread over at the 90's messageboard. Anyway, I think 1987 had a lot of great films, including the following that I like:
Fatal Attraction
Dirty Dancing
La Bamba
Three Men and A Baby
Adventures in Babysitting
Plains, Trains & Automobiles
Baby Boom

Actually that's way too hard to say. See it depends what sort of films we're talking about. If it's horror films it's definatly early 70s to early 80s. If you're talking other genres it's 1982 to about 1986 or 87. No way in hell can one say that any one year was the best year for films. Besides i don't consider the best films to be the big blockbuster ones that sold the most movie tickets on their date of release. Most of my favourite movies are more obscure lost gems & cult classics.

8) I agree Cafe.. I dont think you can pick any ONE year....there were movies from all the years that can be classified as GREAT...and..as you stated,,from all catigories...In 1985..I would say that Platoon ruled as a WAR movie...but we had sooo many others that really cant be put into any group...

river, I agree that 1987 was the best year in the 80's for movies. Great list you have, but you forgot Full Metal Jacket, Hellraiser, and River's Edge.
