Subject: Anthrax 20th Anniversary tour.

Written By: Gis on 07/15/05 at 1:41 am

Well last night I went to see Anthrax again. It's been 15 odd years since I saw them last and they were awesome ! It was a 20th anniversary tour (which in itself is a bit scarey !) original line up too. They played all old stuff, mainly from the first three albums. The only downside was the air con broke and the club was sold out  so you can imagine how hot it was...............

I'm not really interested in seeing them now. They're just trying to cash in on what little fame they got. I seen them in 1991 on the 'Clash of the Titans' tour. It was Alice In Chains, Anthrax,Slayer, and Megadeth. Awesome show! I seen these bands at their peak, none of them were ever any better than they were in 1991.

I liked them best when they had Joey Belladonna on vocals, my favorite CD is Among the Living... The new stuff is pretty good, they got away from the rap sh!t, I have their latest video on a metal blade mixed DVD, they are all wearing black t-shirts with pentagrams, John Bush has a shaved head in the video, as far as I know the original line-up is not together, Joey and Danny are no longer in the band (correct me if i'm wrong on this) I think the only originals are Scott, Frank and Charlie

No it was the original line up for this tour, with Joey on vocals and Dan Spitz came out of musical retirement and played amazingly for a man who now runs a store in New York ! I guess he kept up with the guitar playing. Joey Belladonna looks exactly the same just a bit older !

I'm honestly not sure if John Bush is out of the band or not.All I know is they have been playing in Europe on this anniversary tour but haven't said anything about staying together afterwards.I'm assuming it really is a one off tour.I didn't like Joey's solo stuff either and I always prefered John Bush in Armoured Saint !

My other half still maintains GWAR were the best show he's ever been too !?!

And yes Danny looked ridiculously short on stage also, I don't remember him being quite that small......... ;D

No as far as i know John Bush is not out of the band. Which is a shame as far as i'm concerned because i never liked any of the stuff with John Bush. I liked the stuff with Belladonna  & Spitz minus the lame rap sh!t ofcourse. I went to that 20th Anniversary show here in Australia on 15th of May. They were supported by an outstanding Aussie band called Mortal Sin. There were more people than that venue could hold because you could bearly move & finding my girlfriend after going in the pit & moving through the crowd was a total nightmare. The show was great though. I also went to the show on 25th of April 2004. They had John Bush for that show. I went because my friend convinced me to go because he had noone to go with & i thought why not it can't hurt. I didn't like that show & it was so loud you could bearly make out the songs most of the time. Don't get me wrong i like loud but not to the point where the music is unrecognisable. The 20th Aniversary Anthrax Show & the Megadeth show are the highlights of the year for me at the moment but i hear Kreator might be coming down my way so i'll see what happens .
