In the late 80's I had the long, biggish hair in the styles of the actresses in Dallas/Dynasty..
(well all us girlies tried to emulate Pammy and Sue Ellen in the glamour stakes)

;D  ;D

Personally I think the die straight centre partened hair has been done to the absolute death here in the uk.    ::)

I never had a mullet, but I did have really big hair.  (Can you say spiral perms???)  To make it worse I have really thick hair so it would take hours to wrap.

I agree. At least there was variety in the 80's. Not that I want those styles to come back, but that same look every teenage girl has is getting old.

But seriously, how did the mullet gets it's name? I mean even if you turn the fish up the right way, it only bears a very slight resemblance.http://www.imagefast.com/resources/freetime/images/fish/mullet_small.jpg
Personally, I never had a mullet, but I did cut one during my 1st year of hairdressing (1992!) which  is just as bad, I suppose. I thought it really suited the guy in question, who had the most beautiful thick, wavy red hair. His father, however, took one look at him, told him he looked like a "poof" and gave him a no.2 all over! :\'(
The worst mullet I ever saw belonged to a girl in my class at school (1988-89.) Her thick hair fell all the way down to her bum at the back, but was short, spikey and sort of centre-parted at the front -BLLLGGHHH!

Subject: Re: Did you have a Mullet

Written By: Mushroom on 07/20/05 at 4:30 pm

Actually, during that time, I was already in the Marines, so I had like no hair.  3" was the longest allowed, and could not extend below the ears, evenly tapered up the back.  I had that from 1983-1993.

Of course, since then I have started to grow it long.  Starting in 1998, I would routinely grow my hair until it reaches the middle of my back (or longer), then get it all cut off.  My last 2 haircuts were in June 2004 and November 2000.  SO when everybody else was wearing them long, I had mine short.  And now that short hair is back in, I routinely grow it long.

I expect my next haircut to be sometime in late 2006 or 2007.  By that time, it should be down to my lower back again (it is just now long enough to pull the front into a ponytail in the back, and is lower in the back then my shoulder blade).

If anybody here is puzzled at this, check out the following link.  It is an awesome program that I support fully.  I am growing my hair now for my 4th donation.  :)

I dunno. I've been bleaching it for about 17, 18 years. There's a lot of grey on what little sideburns I have and at times I wonder why I go thorugh the expense but it's such a blast from the past, I can't let it go. It's been such a part of me for so long now. If I ever have to cut it short I'll stop bleachaing it & will dye it back to my natural colour (brown). I hate bleached blond on short hair. Just a personal preference but I think it looks awful on dudes with short hair.
