The movie was about some boys who share the same dream, the dream contains the instructions necesary to build a spaceship, imagine a vehicle from an amusement park, surrounded by a force field protecting the crew from the coldness of space, as well as preventing their pxygen from escaping into space, they finally reach a real spaceship, and meet the aliens who sent them the dream with the instructions, these aliens turns out to be kids themselves, who have "borrowed" Dad's spaceship, which our three heroes discover when Dad shows up.
Please help me here, does anyone remember this movie, I think I was 12 or 13 when I saw it so it probably came out some time around '83 or '84

It's Explorers, starring Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix and it was released in 1985, I think that this is the movie you might be thinking of.
