The "King of Pop" or Duran Duran...

Personally, I enjoy Duran Duran videos more.  8)

I will always choose exotic places over a silcone faced weirdo who grabs his crotch. Duran Duran have also had decent stuff for years whereas Flit boy hasn't had anything NEAR thriller in 20 plus years :P

IMO, he had good videos during the late '80's/early '90's like "Smooth Criminal", "The Way You Make Me Feel", and "Black or White" (have to appreciate the special effects)  :)


I like any music video from the '80's that's good, fun, innovating, or just entertaining.

Unlike today's garbage...  :P

IMO the Videos of MJ were better...

I would say Michael because when each video was unveiled, it was an event.

It's hard to say, since I can't remember a single Duran Duran video now. That makes me think MJ's videos must have at least been more memorable, to me anyway.

As for the music, I loved Michael Jackson when I was preteen and wore out my 'Thriller' album, but now I definitely prefer Duran Duran.

He is King Of Pop...King Of Music Videos...

Based on just the videos themselves - Michael Jackson.

Duran Duran had some good new wave songs, but I only know their videos for "Rio" (sailing on a midsized boat with some girls) and "Hungry Like the Wolf" (chase through the forest).

Forget what MJ has turned into today (and frankly, since around the middle of the 90's), just think of how much an impact Thriller had on the industry back in '83. The title track's video still draws me in and manages to kinda creep me out - after repeated viewings. It was its own movie.

His later ones had much the same appeal. I remember in 1991 as a kid, when the "Black Or White" video premiered (in its long version). Some suburban kid wants to rock out, his dad yells at him to get to bed, so he literally blasts him out of the house on his living room chair.

Okay, it completely rips off Twisted Sister's premise for "We're Not Gonna Take it" but who cares. ;)

The end was really good cinematography too - the "molding" and "changing" of the different faces against the background. Then of course, the finale, where Michael goes berserk (God knows why) screaming, smashing car windows.
