Top 10 looks otherwise good but I never liked Tomas Dolby (too weird). Modern English should also be replaced.

8) 1983 was a great year, espescially for a die-hard Culture Club fan like yours truly: 5 great singles and 5 big hits! ( I'll Tumble 4 Ya , Church Of The Poison Mind, Karma Chameleon, Miss Me Blind and Victims.)
Also well worth a mention:
Eurythmics -Sweet Dreams, Who's That Girl?, Right By Your Side
Billy Idol -Catch My Fall
Uncanny X-Men -How Do You Get Your Kicks?
I'm sure to think of more! :)

There's a lot on your list that I don't know...must be my ignorance :-\\
Anyway, I'm glad you put in Golden Earring!
Here's a few I'd like to add:
Billy Joel - Goodnight Saigon
Robert Plant - Big log
New Order - Blue Monday/The beach
Rolling Stones - Undercover of the night
Yello - I love you
Genesis - Mama
Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five - The message
and for something completely different:
Divine - Shoot your shot
How's that for dessert?
