Subject: Empty Nest ( was Need help remembering name of 80s sitcom)

It featured a widowed doctor (family GP.) I think his name was Dr Weston and he lived with his two grown-up daughters, one of whom was a policewoman. Been driving myself crazy trying to think of the name of this show, please help! :D

I never really watched the Golden Girls (or rather my parents wouldn't let me) but I've enjoyed the re-runs of Empty Nest that I've seen. I particularly loved one episode, where Dr Weston sees a series of patients: first a little boy with diabetes, then an older boy wanting to learn the facts of life, then a teenager wanting a medical exam, so that he can play sport and dabbling with a bit of pot, then a grown man about to go off to colege. It is not until the end of the episode, that you realise that it has been the same boy over 15 years. :)
