I think she was better as a solo artist with songs such as "Looking For A New Love", "Don't You Want Me", "Some Kind Of Lover", "Friends" (which she duetted with Eric B & Rakim), "Real Love", I'm The One You Need" and the brilliant "When A Man Loves A Woman".

I love her strong voice, and liked her both in Shalamar and solo.

She's not got that much of a strong voice. If you want a strong voice than listen to a Chaka Khan record.

She was great both as a member of Shalamar and as a solo artist.

i loved her but this si the first time i heard she was in a groupe but i love her what happend to her anyway she won a grammey for best new artist in 1988

My dad used to play Shalamar all the time when I was younger. They were alright.
I liked some of the songs but Jody Watley really did her thing solo. I loved her debut

Not seen the video to that song. The only solo video i've seen is "Looking For A New Love".

Other: Band Aid and USA For Africa, because her voice was lost in those large groups.
