Subject: 80's movie about female body building???

There was a movie in the 80's that was about this overweight (just chunky from what I remember) pretty girl who goes to an audition and gets told to layer her hair which it is and lose a few lbs. then maybe they can use her. She goes to a gym and gets the cigarette taken out of her mouth and gets a lesson in workouts. She likes it a decides to make a change and works really hard,loses weight and beyond....now competes in female lightweight bodybuilding...and so on and so on.I cant for the life of me remember the name of this movie or the actress/workout couaches name who stars in it to begin to try and find it. Yes,its cheesy~but I like cheese thank you,lol.
I found it really inspiring...this was alos when I was a teen so who knows what ill think of it now.

This sounds like something I'd like (I'm into "cheesy" stuff myself!), but it doesn't ring a bell for me either, sorry to say.
Do you know any dialogue from it by heart? Maybe if you typed some lines in a search engine like Yahoo, it might find something.

I have been hunting and hunting for this movie!!! Did you ever have any luck finding out what it is called?
Was it a documentary like Pumping Iron II?

There was an 80's movie called 'Heavenly Bodies.' It was more of a mix of Flashdance and Olivia Newton John's music video 'Physical.' I believe there was a group of women that entered some sort of extreme exercise competition. I remember renting it from our video store as a kid and my mom thought the title sounded a little too 'adult' for me so she had to watch it first lol.

Would it be this film? ??? In this film women wrestle but I'm not sure if this is what he's referring to?
