Gag Me With A Spoon ? ? ? ?
How does an expression like that get started, I mean I grew up in Denmark and I don't think we anything that equaled that one, so how did it get started, does anyone know?

Hey I was thinking of starting a thread like this.
I can't answer your question but can tell you that it later mutated to Gag me with maggot.
Here are my questions.
How come if you get three strikes in a row in bowling it's called a turkey?
Where does the name cocktails (referring to drinks) come from?

I don't know the exact origin of the "gag me with a spoon" phrase....
However, I'm sure many people on here will tell you it comes from the west coast, probably California....
It's one of those Valley Girl sayings.....
