Subject: Air Supply

These guys are so cheesy and terrible. I'd take Journey over them and I hate Journey.
Every Air Supply song has the word "Love" in the title.

I certainly do notice a pattern.....
Play all 3 of those songs consecutively, and you've got like a good 15 minutes of make-out music!

While I do understand that Air Supply can be describe as cheesy-sometimes a little cheese is good. I must admit that I do like them but I don't think think that I can handle listening to an entire album in one sitting-maybe one or two songs at a time. But, I really do like the song "Sweet Dreams".

Graham Russell had a wonderful voice, I've gotta give him that, even if most of Air supplies songs were a little sappy for my tastes. They were on the ABC (Australian) a couple of weeks ago. Some dude from Arista reccords said they were about the only band he had signed on the strength of a demo tape.

I'll agree, Air Supply is cheesy...but I love those songs. My friends and I would have "Cheesy music and drinks" nights and Air Supply would be a favorite. "Out Of The Nothing At All" is one we liked to belt out. I mean we would SING the hell out of that song. Good times from Air Supply. ;D

I heard their 1985 song "Just As I Am" while grocery shopping last night.
Not a bad '80s "softie" kind of song.

They're not my favorite arena band ever, but yes they're such a breath of fresh air compared to almost anything you hear on the radio today, no pun intended.

back in the 80's Air Supply could do no wrong. they were not only a great recording duo, they were wonderful in concert. but now they are old and their prime has passed them by. the songs they put out in the 80's were mostly geared for couples. I've got 3 of their records on vinyl

IMO they were geared toward Baby Boomers and even some middle-aged adults who were settling down and raising kids, and due to their rather short shelf life, aren't recommended in terms of collecting. Those vinyl records will be thrift store "junk" for decades and decades just like their parent's Lawrence Welk and the Mills Brothers records were. MTV rarely played them and their videos were more likely found on Night Flight or some premium cable channel like early Showtime or HBO in their mostly pre-VH1 prime. After "Just As I Am" in 1985, they quickly faded in their relevance. At least they have a rather fitting name! My favorite song would be Even The Nights Are Better because I remember hearing it in one of those direct retail music compilations and sounds catchier than the others.
